As a result, its electric buses and depots will in future use only certified electricity from 100% renewable sources.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp style=\"text-align: justify\">Demy Schandeler currently has 69 electric buses in its fleet, which have so far covered more than 16 million kilometres in fully electric operation. In 2019, it opened its modern bus depot in Keispelt, designed from the outset with sustainable operation in mind. The A+ energy-rated facility was built with a roof-mounted photovoltaic system, modern electric-bus charging infrastructure, energy-efficient technical solutions and a rainwater recycling system. The company’s long-term goal is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with the gradual electrification of the vehicle fleet as one of its most important pillars. Under the strategy, at least 25% of the fleet will consist of electrically driven vehicles by 2035, with the pace of transition determined by the energy demand of individual routes, the range of electric buses, Luxembourg’s geographical and climatic conditions, and the development of charging infrastructure. According to the roadmap for 2024 to 2030, the company aims to increase the share of electric vehicles by an average of around 5 percentage points per year, while implementing new photovoltaic projects, converting its depots to LED lighting and continuously developing its environmental programme.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fmedia.magyarbusz.info\u002F2026\u002F07\u002F49.jpg\">\u003Cimg loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-93941\" src=\"https:\u002F\u002Fmedia.magyarbusz.info\u002F2026\u002F07\u002F49.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"425\" title=\"\" \u002F>\u003C\u002Fa>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp style=\"text-align: justify\">At the same time, the investments are not focused solely on the procurement of electric buses. By 2030, Demy Schandeler will spend around €3 million on developing its energy infrastructure, including the further expansion of photovoltaic systems, the development of electric-bus charging infrastructure and improvements to depot energy efficiency. A total of more than 3,400 square metres of photovoltaic systems are currently in operation at the company’s Keispelt and Eischen sites. Its own solar installations have generated nearly 200,000 kWh of electricity per year in total: 186,000–187,000 kWh of this is linked to the Keispelt depot, with the remainder coming from the Eischen site.
